Screen vs. Paper Reading—Which is Better for Learning?

According to research, how students read—not just what they read—matters!

  • Students who read on paper score higher on comprehension tests than those who read on screens.
  • Reading on screens leads to skimming and lowered attention and retention.
  • Reading on paper engages more senses, which boosts comprehension and recall.

Summer Programs at Oxford Learning Leaside

We're excited to share our comprehensive learning programs designed to keep your child engaged, challenged, and prepared for success.

Stay The Course

We’re a year-round program, so staying on your existing schedule presents the perfect opportunity for your child to catch up with their peers and build academic momentum. While many students lose up to two months of learning during summer break, our tutoring program helps prevent this slide while building confidence for the upcoming school year.

Summer Camps That Blend Learning & Fun

Our half-day summer camps run throughout July and August, offering flexible morning (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) or afternoon (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) sessions. We've thoughtfully designed these camps to combine academic enrichment with engaging activities that keep children excited about learning. Understanding family summer plans, we require a minimum of just 4 days per week, perfect for those long weekend getaways. Cost: $325/week.

SSAT Preparation

For families exploring private school options, our SSAT prep classes begin the first week of August. We'll work with interested families to create a schedule that best accommodates everyone's needs, maintaining our current competitive rates.

Get a Head Start on Next Year

Our grade preparation program offers a powerful advantage for the upcoming school year. Students will:

  • Review and reinforce this year's crucial concepts
  • Preview key topics for the coming year
  • Develop essential study skills and learning strategies
  • Build confidence in independent learning

Standard rates apply for this program.

Would you like to learn more about any of these programs?
We’re happy to schedule a call to discuss which option would best suit your child's needs.
